Dear players, members and volunteers,
We are a month into the season and lots of great things are happening on and off the field at the club.
There have been some varied results for all our senior teams but the first team’s victory over Bristol last weekend was their second and leaves them in 5th place, level on points with Bridgwater. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th XIs have all won matches and with some consistency can build as we head towards the half-way stage. Our women’s team have won two hard ball matches against Cam and Hawkesbury and are building nicely so the signs are positive as we head into June.
One of the most pleasing aspects has been the emergence of some younger players into senior cricket. Seb Gruner scored his first 100 for the 4th team v Uley last week, while Monty Friendman took three wickets at Cinderford for the 3rd XI in a team that contained five junior players under the age of 17, while the 4XI continues to promote our young players.
Both grounds are looking spectacular and as ever, there is plenty going on off the field too. I would like to take the opportunity to let people know of some upcoming events that are not just great fun, but help keep the club running.
On Friday we are hosting our first ever Walking Cricket Festival at 11am and on Sunday, we are holding a special summer Breakfast Club from 10am. The food is great value, the company and setting better. Please do join us for this special charity event.
Frocester Festival tickets are now on sale, and it would be great to get as many sold as possible. Tell family and friends and join us for a brilliant day at Pounds Close. Tickets can be found here: Get Tickets for Frocester Festival | Frocester, Gloucestershire
It would be great to see plenty of people at Pounds Close on Saturday matchdays to support our 1s and 2s – the bar is open and the evening food is always a highlight. Your support is crucial and very much appreciated.
As a reminder, fixtures for both senior and junior cricket can be found here: Senior Cricket – FROCESTER CRICKET CLUB and Frocester CC
If anyone has any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
